St. Charles' Country Club House, Winnipeg, Man. Duke of Connaught (aka Prince Arthur, then the Governor General of Canada) enjoying tea at the Club. Posted August 1912 (many postcards of this kind were made of his 1912 visit to the city). They were at the country club on 1912 July 13 to formally open the new club and grounds. The new club house burned down on 1912 Oct 15. |

The postcard is undated. In 1962, a new annex was built north of and connected to the 1913 wing. It had a new library, an improved
laboratory, a larger gymnasium, and a swimming pool for use by both students and sisters. Swimming lessons were offered after school
and during the summer holidays. High upgrading and operating costs forced closure of the pool in 1982.

The postcard is undated. Westward Motel, 3730 Portage Ave. (Buchanan Blvd.).. Circa 1970s. The motel is now part of the Howard Johnson Express Inn just beside (west) of it. |
